Interlibrary Loan - Book/Item What is it. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for books or other items is a free* service for borrowing physical materials not owned by the UW Libraries, such as books, bound journal volumes, DVDs, audiobooks, microfilm, etc.

Use this service after trying UW Libraries collections and Summit. The Interlibrary Loan unit provides service to the University at Albany’s current students, faculty, staff, and emeritus faculty. Courtesy borrowing privileges, alumni borrowing privileges, and Empire State College borrowing agreements do not include interlibrary loan privileges.

Interlibrary Loan staff are still available to process your requests for materials. We are working to obtain electronically sourced articles, books and book chapters wherever Interlibrary loan book. However, the COVID pandemic has resulted in the Interlibrary loan book of many partner institutions, and we have suspended ILL of physical items.

To request a book or journal article/book chapter that is not available in the Elon University Library, please use one of the methods below. These services are only available to Elon University students, faculty, and staff. Belk Library does not request textbooks through Interlibrary Loan.
